Curitiba participates for the first time in the FIT in Buenos Aires

Curitiba has stood out as an attractive tourist destination for Argentines and the presence of the IMT at the FIT is a strategy to further reinforce this image

The Municipal Tourism Institute of Curitiba (IMT) presents the Curitiba destination at the International Tourism Fair (FIT) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The FIT, one of the largest and most important tourism fairs in Latin America, began last weekend and will continue until this Tuesday (3/10), attracting numerous professionals from the tourism and travel sector, with 1,700 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors expected.

Curitiba has stood out as an attractive tourist destination for Argentines and the presence of the IMT at the FIT is a strategy to further reinforce this image. The 32 m² stand, in association with co-exhibitors such as Air Promo, Hard Rock and Curitiba Convention & Visitors Bureau, has been a focal point to show Argentines the natural beauty, gastronomy, culture and tourist attractions of the city.
Training of international operators

The highlight of the event took place on Monday (October 2), when IMT President Tatiana Turra gave a training session to 20 Argentine and Uruguayan operators. They were very interested in the Smart Tourist Destination (DTI) model that is being implemented in Curitiba.

The official also presented the International Fair of Smart Destinations (Fidi), which will take place in Curitiba in 2024, with the participation of the executive director of the Cities of the Future Institute, Gonzalo La Rosa.

"The FIT Buenos Aires is not only an opportunity to promote tourism in Curitiba, but also to establish strategic alliances and open the doors to new business opportunities," said Tatiana Turra.

The geographical proximity between Curitiba and Buenos Aires, with 4 direct weekly flights between the two cities, makes the participation of local companies in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) segment even more attractive. This reduces travel costs and facilitates logistics, allowing companies in Curitiba to take advantage of the business opportunities offered by the Argentine capital and vice versa. Furthermore, in less than two hours by car you can visit Paranaguá and Ilha do Mel, one of the most beautiful sun and beach destinations in the state of Paraná.

Curitiba has 20 thousand beds in its hotel park, more than 42 thousand m² of area in 138 spaces to host events of all sizes. With three of the largest theaters in the country, Curitiba has an intense cultural scene that attracts shows from big names worldwide and nationally. All this with a reduced ISS of only 2% for holding events.

New associations

The IMT's participation in FIT Buenos Aires also marks the launch of a Public Call for Sponsorship. This initiative aims to promote the participation of local co-exhibitors in tourism fairs, offering opportunities to present products, services and tourist attractions to a diverse and highly qualified audience.

The Institute's strategy demonstrates its commitment to promoting the Curitiba destination, strengthening ties with the Argentine market and promoting local tourism. "By encouraging the participation of local companies in tourism fairs, the city is strengthened as an attractive, diversified destination full of business opportunities," highlighted the representative of Curitiba at the FIT.
