36 tourist establishments, including hotels, restaurants, cafes, huacas and 10 families from the city will share their best recipes in the 'Coladas and Guaguas in the Capital of the Center of the World' contest, organized by the Municipality of Quito, through Quito Turismo , with the collaboration of the International University of Ecuador (UIDE).

All participants must comply with certain parameters such as use of ingredients, cooking techniques, cleaning, presentation, etc., for the preparation of the colada morada and guaguas de pan.

Throughout October, organizers will qualify participants and 20 finalists will be chosen. In the case of families, they must present a short video explaining their preparation of colada morada and guaguas de pan and the importance of transmitting this custom to future generations. The 10 best family videos will be chosen.
All finalists will receive recognition on November 1, in a special ceremony to be held in Plaza Foch, in the La Mariscal neighborhood, within the framework of the 'Más Allá de la Vida' festival, organized every year by Quito Turismo.

At the same time, with the presence of gastronomy teachers from the UIDE, throughout this month several activations will be carried out in different parts of the capital so that citizens can learn more about the preparation of these traditional foods and taste the colada morada and guaguas de pan.
