In this context, Travel2latam spoke with Kirsis Mendez, Sales Director of Casa de Campo Resorts & Villas.

What has been the experience of participating here at FIT?

For Casa de Campo it is always very important to have a presence here in the Argentine market, because it represents a very good production in terms of golfers. In Argentina Casa de Campo is well known for our golf courses and every year we receive a large number of people who come to see the courses or enjoy the experience of playing on the best courses in the Caribbean.

How have the first days here at the fair turned out?

They have been great, we are here announcing the new part of the Premier Club that we opened 8 months ago with 56 completely new and very modern suites that meet all the expectations of the best accommodation worldwide, and we also talk about the new spa , which we were missing to complement the most important offer that the hotel industry in the Caribbean has in Casa de Campo.

How has the performance been this year, reaching the last stretch?

If you refer to the occupancy in the hotel, it has been very good, we have had 85 to 90% occupancy, which meant a very great achievement since we ended 2022 with very good hotel occupancy as well, and the idea was to continue with that. in 2023. So very positive since we are on that same path towards 2024. For Casa de Campo, what has been the production for the Latin American and European market has been quite growing in the last two years.

How is Latin America positioned within the markets that reach Casa de Campo?

Not all Latin American countries are positioned the same and each market has a preference. Regarding the Latin American destination, the markets of Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Colombia are the most important for us since they represent the highest employment rate.

Arajet, the Dominican airline, is helping in this?

That's right, I had the opportunity to take the flight from Santo Domingo to Mexico and it was a satisfactory experience, I have no complaints about it, which is why we are grateful from the hotel side that there are more options in terms of flights and that they have a fairly affordable rate for a number of people who cannot pay a higher rate. In addition, they are new aircraft that are having a very good presence in the Latin American markets and the routes continue to grow and that helps the destination a lot.

How is the promotional year going for you?

We do not stop the promotional tour throughout the year, we have a very high hotel occupancy but it is important that the image we give to people, and that people know that Casa de Campo is not a hotel only for people with a high budget, but it is a very accessible product that has different categories of rooms that adapt to the budgets of each person. A person can pay from a 250 dollar room to a 15,000 dollar suite facing the sea, so Casa de Campo is for everyone, that is the message we want to bring to the different events in which we participate.
