In this context, Travel2latam spoke with Ismenia Rodríguez, Sales and Marketing Manager of Majestic Hotels Group.
What has been the participation you have had in FIT?
Like every year, Majestic has to be present in Argentina and at this fair, which is excellent as always, so we are very happy to be able to participate and to be able to reach each and every one of those present here.
What are the new developments coming to the hotel chain?
We have three properties in Punta Cana and within each one we have a family section and an adults-only section from 18 years old. It is always important to highlight that all the rooms are suites and all have a jacuzzi, and they are no more than 5 minutes from the reception to the beach. They are not the typical mass hotels but rather provide personalized service, we have main restaurants, buffets and specialty restaurants in each of our properties. And it is very important to highlight that at this moment we are renovating our second property, which is the Majestic Elegance, remodeling the rooms and all areas in those blocks.
What's next, besides the renovation of the hotel, in terms of different types of initiatives and activities in the last quarter of the year?
In the last quarter of the year we already have Christmas and New Year scheduled, as always, every party is expected, so you are cordially invited to come and discover the Majestic lifestyle.
What is your reflection regarding 2023 in terms of sales?
This year has really been very good on a general level, both tourism for the Dominican Republic and Punta Cana has been a Boom. Next year we believe that we will exceed expectations, so we are very positive and we hope to have a lot of presence in the Argentine market.
Speaking of the Argentine and Latino market, is the contribution that the low-cost Dominican airline Arajet makes by launching new routes important?
Yes, that's right, the new Boom or the novelty is this very good Dominican airline, in fact I tried it to go to Mexico to a fair and the truth is that I recommend it 100%.
How many of Majestic's customers are Latino?
Luckily we have more every day and we have really continued to grow in recent times, but mostly our clients are from the United States and Canada.
How is the MICE segment positioned for you?
It is very important, we have an exclusive group department as well as an exclusive wedding department. We have conference rooms with a capacity of 600 people, and we have a team coordinator who accompanies and helps these groups and assists them from the moment they receive the quote until the end of the event or meeting. MICE for us is a thriving segment and in fact we recently attended the IBTM in Mexico, which is a fair dedicated to groups and meetings.
What is the next event in which you are going to present?
We have a special fair for a tour operator in Brazil, so we will return to Brazil and we are already looking at returning to Argentina.
