Cancun Travel Mart 2023 closed with the participation of more than 600 delegates

The Hotel Association of Cancún, Puerto Morelos & Isla Mujeres successfully carried out the 35th edition of the Cancún Travel Mart, at the Iberostar Selection Cancún Hotel, led by Mr. Jesús Almaguer Salazar, President of this association

Present at the ribbon cutting of the official opening of the Cancún Travel Mart were: Lic. Mara Lezama Espinosa, Governor of the State, Lic. Jesús Almaguer S., President AHCPMIM, Lic. Bernardo Cueto Riestra, Secretary of Tourism SEDETUR, Mtra. Atenea Gómez Ricalde, Municipal President of Isla Mujeres, C. Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz, Municipal President of Puerto Morelos, Lic. Lili Campos Miranda, Municipal President of Solidaridad, Lic. Miguel Ángel Fong González, President of the Mexican Association of Hotels and Motels and Mtro. Antonio Chavés Palomo, President of the Mexican Caribbean Hotel Council.

In addition to participation in the official venue where the event was held this year, various collateral activities are carried out by the main tour-operator and hotel groups, which include even more than 750 delegates in this edition.   

The main Wholesale Agencies and Tour Operators from: Mexico, Germany, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, India, Israel, Peru, United Arab Emirates, United States, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom participated.

For the first time, the 12 tourist destinations of the Mexican Caribbean were present, as well as Tourist Suppliers from Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Isla Mujeres, Playa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Holbox, Cozumel, Riviera Maya, Tulum, Grand Costa Maya, from the Association of Hotels in Valladolid, Yucatán and hotel chains with properties in different states of the Mexican Republic and the Caribbean.

Starting this year, the AHCPMIM is developing the Sustainable Hospitality Communication Plan, highlighting the practices, certifications and activities that hotels and allied members carry out in favor of sustainable tourism, so in congruence with this plan, from this edition, we signed an alliance with Sustentur and we have measured the footprint of the event and compensated its impact, deciding between several options at the national level, the Reef Restoration Program of the Oceanus Civil Association, which carries out conservation actions for the Mesoamerican reef, for making the Cancun Travel Mart a “Carbon Neutral” event.
