In fact, Alaska may not be considered a premier culinary destination by many, but among the nearly 300 shore excursions on offer is Oceania Cruises' new Culinary Discovery Tours series designed for Riviera's 2025 season, highlighting Alaska's unique and thriving food scenes. State Wonders Number 49: Onboard Enrichment
The immersion in the wonders of Alaska continues on board. Each sailing features an onboard naturalist who offers insightful commentary about the bridge, plus a series of guest speaker-style talks that delve into Alaska's incredible biodiversity – covering everything from the whales, bears and seals guests can see to the fascinating plant life and local culture. For guests traveling with children, the Alaska Explorer Youth Program offers the opportunity for everyone to experience the excitement of exploring the Northwest Coast and Alaska in a meaningful and enriching way. Designed for children ages 5 to 12, the program is supervised by enthusiastic and experienced youth counselors and includes engaging games, activities and special events inspired by Alaska.

Guests will also have the opportunity to learn the secrets behind the much-loved regional specialties of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest if they wish: multiple hands-on cooking classes will be offered during each sailing at Riviera's state-of-the-art Culinary Center.
