Creativity for tourism promotion and the projection of sustainable tourism were the components that determined Panama as the winner of the video contest organized by the World Tourism Organization in its 2023 version

The awards aimed at the categories “Tourism promotion and the decade of action”, as well as “Exceptional stories of sustainable tourism”, sought to show how the tourism sector is advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and highlight the human face of tourism. , making clear the positive social impact that the sector can have on communities and people.

The video that shows scenes of Panamanian destinations, and their natural and cultural wealth, with the experiences of the Panamanian population in their customs and traditions, was the winner in both categories, surpassing the rest of the countries on the American continent.

The Sustainable Tourism Master Plan 2020-2025 has among its main objectives the development and management of tourism based on sustainability, innovation, the creation of quality jobs and the empowerment of women and youth to strengthen local communities.
