2024: These are some of the most relevant sporting events in Miami

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) presents four must-see sports activities for 2024 and some plans that can be made near the events

With sporting events in motorsports,  basketball, athletics, soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, among others, Miami will be one of the epicenters of sporting action in 2024.  Thanks to its warm climate and the large number of parks, beaches and activities of entertainment, the City of the Sun becomes the ideal place for athletes to deliver their best in each competition. 

Miami has been one of the cities that has hosted major sporting events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Capital One Orange Bowl, the NBA finals, Nascar races, the Miami Open and the Super Bowl. For one thing, the city has been selected by the NFL 11 times to host the Super Bowl. Also, it has one of the most desired F1 races that undoubtedly drive sales, tourist and income figures for the city.

For this reason, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) presents four must-see sports activities for 2024 and some plans that can be made near the events:

The Miami Marathon and Half Marathon

Miami, with its mild year-round climate, offers athletes a unique advantage. Athletes from all over the world gather here to compete in outdoor events amid spectacular surroundings. That is why marathon races, watching the beautiful beaches of the city, are one of the favorite plans for millions of tourists. For them, the  Life Time Miami Marathon & Half Marathon  will return on January 28, 2024 with its 22nd edition. Nearly 25,000 people from all 50 states in the United States and 80 countries around the world participate in this event, competing in both the 26.2-mile general marathon and the 13.1-mile half marathon that surrounds the entire city. 

This exciting event is not only for the competing athletes, but also for the spectators who line the streets in the early hours cheering on friends and family with drums, signs and well wishes. In addition to participating in the event, tourists and citizens will be able to enjoy the beautiful beaches of Miami and why not, take the opportunity to attend the  Miami Brickell Art Festival , which for two days, January 27 and 28, will have wonderful exhibitions pieces of art plus food and music.

Miami Open

Next year is shaping up to be an exciting year for tennis in Miami. The best players in the world will meet once again in the City of the Sun to compete in the Miami Open. With matches full of intensity and emotion, the event promises to continue being one of the crown jewels of this sport worldwide. In 2024, the event will take place from March 17 to 31 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and has six different plans to enjoy alone, as a couple, with family or friends. 

For those interested in attending the Miami Open, the city has beautiful beaches and parks that make the experience unique and unforgettable. Close to Hard Rock Stadium are the beaches north of Miami Beach and some parks such as  Haulover Beach Park  , which is recognized for its blue waters, soft sand and abundant picnic areas. The park regularly has workshops where you can make kites and fly them on a large grass area facing Biscayne Bay. There is also a tennis center, golf course, and dog park.

F1 Miami Grand Prix

For two years, Miami has been a magnet for lovers of speed and automotive technology, thanks to the celebration of the  Formula 1 Grand Prix . This event that was born in 2022 turned the streets of Miami into a high-speed racing circuit, where the best drivers in the world compete in state-of-the-art cars. This race not only offers exciting competitions, but also a spectacle of innovation and speed that attracts fans from all over the world. Therefore, between May 3 and 5, 2024, this event will be held for the third time on a state-of-the-art track built in parking lots near the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. 

During the three days of the competition, visitors will be able to relax and enjoy some cocktails at  Baleen Kitchen , a restaurant near the stadium that from Wednesday to Sunday between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm has a 50% discount on this type of drinks and wines and a selection of imported and national beers.

With these events and others that will be available throughout the year in the City of the Sun, such as some of the Inter Miami matches, which will feature the Argentine star Lionel Messi, Miami continues to position itself as a tourist, cultural, gastronomic and sports, which brings together the diversity of all tastes and trends in the world.
