Air India chooses Sabre's GDS to distribute domestic flight content to Indian travel agencies

The airline is expanding its geographic reach and enhancing its revenue opportunities by increasing its level of engagement with Sabre, including the distribution of future NDC content

Sabre Corporation, a leading provider of software and technology powering the global travel industry, and Air India, India's leading global airline and member of Star Alliance, have signed an expanded distribution agreement, adding to the partnership announced in April of 2023.  

Under the expanded agreement, Indian travel agencies will have access to Air India's extensive domestic content through Sabre's global distribution system (GDS) from January 1, 2024, offering Indian travel buyers an expanded portfolio of fares and seats to better serve its customers. Air India also has the option to distribute New Distribution Capability (NDC) content globally through Sabre's digital travel marketplace in the future.

Earlier this year, the two companies signed a new distribution agreement that allowed travel buyers around the world to access Air India content through the Saber marketplace. The deal gave travel agencies located outside India access to Air India domestic and international flights, while Indian agencies could purchase international fares. The deal has now been expanded to include the airline's domestic content for outlets in India.
