The event, which took place on the third level of the airport, was attended by authorities from the Ministry of Tourism and Brazil, who had the opportunity to view the arrival of the aircraft from the terrace with panoramic views.
“The opening of a new destination like Curitiba is great news for Carrasco Airport and for our country. It is another example of Azul's commitment to Uruguay, and the commitment with which we are working to enhance connectivity and encourage the arrival of tourists,” said Matías Carluccio, commercial manager of Aeropuertos Uruguay.
The new air route has a frequency of four flights per week, departing at noon from the capital of the state of Paraná every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The returns are made on the same days, taking off from Carrasco Airport at 3:10 p.m.
The Embraer E2 aircraft destined for these flights transport up to 136 passengers, aiming to offer an optimal and fast transfer alternative for those who choose to visit Brazil or arrive to Montevideo from Curitiba.
The incorporation of this new route reaffirms the commitment of Aeropuertos Uruguay to continue promoting the development of the industry, communities and the country as a whole.
