From this Monday, November 6 to Wednesday, November 8, one of the most important meetings in the world of the tourism industry, the World Travel Market (WTM), will take place in London, an event attended by a delegation of national tour operators led by by the Municipality of the city, through Quito Tourism. 

WTM is considered one of the most relevant fairs in the field of travel and tourism trade internationally. Its first edition was in 1980 and since then, its prestige and reputation have been constantly increasing. In 2022, it received more than 35 thousand professionals from 184 countries and, in general, produces more than US$ 7.5 billion in business for the sector. This year, as in recent years, World Travel Market takes place at Excel, a trade fair complex located east of London, where delegations from countries and companies from the 5 continents meet, showing their offer and services in the tourist field to the attendees. 

Quito, once again, is present at this fair with a 42 m2 stand where delegates from Quito Tourism provide information and explain to attendees the attractions and services that the Ecuadorian capital has to receive visitors and host events of international importance.  

On the morning of this Monday, November 6, the technical manager of Quito Tourism, Giohana Albuja, inaugurated the stand with a previous message in which she wished success to those attending the fair. 

“We have come with the objective of conquering this market, the European and the British, to show all our charm and our attractions to this, an important market for Quito and the country,” she said. In the Ecuadorian delegation there are also representatives of the Ecuadorian companies Royal Galapagos, Enchanted Expeditions, Quasar, Adventure Journeys, Latin Trails, Galacruises and Rebecca Travel who, from the Quito stand, have held meetings with representatives of other international companies interested in strengthening the relationship. tourist relationship with Quito and other parts of the country. 

During the first day of the event, the Quito Tourism delegation alone held more than 20 meetings with representatives of international companies such as Journey Latin America, Llama Travel and Exotica, who showed their interest in continuing to expand their business portfolio in the capital and, in addition, specialized international media such as Natgeo, Breaking Travel News, BBC Radio and Trip Reporter and Intrepid Scape, which conducted interviews and offered their services for future spots promoting the destination. In addition, at the Quito stand, a tasting of chocolate, high-altitude coffee and the traditional canelazo was offered, which was tasted by attendees who recognized the special flavor of these products from the Ecuadorian Capital.
