Arajet wins Best New Airline in the World at the World Aviation Summit

Arajet is the first Dominican and Caribbean airline to win this type of distinction. He is also the first 737 MAX8 operator in the world to receive an award in this category

The low-price airline of the Caribbean was recognized as the best new airline in the world at the CAPA awards that were presented this Tuesday in this city, at the World Aviation Summit, and in which nine other categories of the global and airport aviation. 

Arajet, based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, was selected from more than 20 airlines that have begun operations in the last three years, and on the basis of having been “the most innovative among all new airlines and the one with the greatest impact.” in the aviation industry globally”, highlighted the award at the CAPA Awards. 

As a basis for the award, it was taken into consideration that Arajet already has a fleet of six new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft operating, which will end the year with eight and that it has an order with The Boeing Company that could exceed 45 aircraft in 2027. These Latest generation aircraft consume significantly less fuel and make less noise than previous generations. Additionally, the new airline carried more than half a million passengers in its first year. 

Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of Arajet, thanked the distinction saying that “we are very proud of this award, which is the recognition of a dream come true. For his part, Gardiner Porter, Commercial Director of Boeing Aircraft, who was present at the award ceremony, congratulated Pacheco Méndez, and highlighted that Arajet has been an extraordinary partner for The Boeing Company, which fills them with pride, since it is the first 737-8 operator who obtains this recognition. 

Arajet stood out at the Capa Awards, which are the aviation industry's leading global awards, where Alaska Airlines won best airline of the year, and London Gatwick Airport won best large airport in the world. 

Pacheco Méndez dedicated the award to the Dominican people and the more than 400 Arajet employees who have worked hard to make this dream a reality, while thanking the government of the Dominican Republic for hosting and supporting this venture for the benefit of connecting the country and from all of Latin America.
