The tourism promotion strategies implemented by the Government of Jalisco through the Ministry of Tourism (Secturjal), throughout this year have yielded positive results. Until the end of October, the tourist influx in Jalisco has reached the figure of 28 million 373 thousand visitors, marking an increase of 12% compared to the same period of the previous year, when the figure stood at 25 million 222 thousand tourists.
“The results obtained in the sector so far this year are positive and reflect the relevance of Jalisco in tourism preference. The influx, the economic impact and the hotel occupancy are evidence of the attractiveness that the state has at a national and international level and that the promotion strategy that we have been carrying out has been appropriate. We are going to continue working hard on tourism promotion to maintain this trend and of course the growth of the sector,” said the Secretary of Tourism, Vanessa Pérez Lamas.
The sites with the highest number of visitors are Guadalajara with 14 million 125 thousand tourists, 9.5% more than in 2022 and Puerto Vallarta with a little more than 5 million, 3.9% more than last year.
The economic benefit generated by the tourism sector reached 64,472 million pesos (mp) until the month of October, reflecting an increase of 6% compared to the same period of the previous year. Among the most notable destinations, Puerto Vallarta leads with a figure of 33,997 million pesos, followed by Guadalajara, which adds a total of 24,950 million pesos in economic benefits.
According to the latest figures from Datatur, in the week of November 13 to 19, Puerto Vallarta once again positioned itself in first place in the national hotel occupancy rate, registering 78.5%, demonstrating its continued attraction for national and international visitors.
All these results obtained reinforce Jalisco's position as a leading tourist destination in Mexico, thanks to the combination of its rich tourist offer, the hospitality of its people and the unmatched beauty of its landscapes. At the end of this year, we reaffirm our commitment to continue promoting our destinations, working hand in hand with the private sector to continue achieving success and promoting unforgettable experiences for our visitors.
