Avianca inaugurates flight that connects San Juan, PR with Medellín

Travelers from Puerto Rico are now even closer to Medellín, thanks to the new route inaugurated by Avianca Airlines, which connects the skies of San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport with Medellín's José María Córdova International Airport.

Avianca has opened service between Medellín, Colombia's second largest city, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Colombian flag carrier operates four weekly flights between the José María Córdova International Airport (MDE) in Medellín and the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan. The exclusive route, with a flight time of about 2 hours. 45 min., will be operated with an Airbus A320 aircraft configured to transport 180 passengers.

Avianca indicates in a statement that it will offer more than 1,400 weekly seats on the route. "This demonstrates the airline's commitment to providing more travel opportunities to customers in Puerto Rico," the airline says.

The new route “responds to the growing demand of passengers who want to travel from Puerto Rico to Colombia.” The airline already operates ten weekly flights between Bogotá's El Dorado International Airport and SJU.
