Within the framework of the event, on December 11, the ICCA Peru Summit was held, led by the regional director of ICCA for Latin America and the Caribbean, Andrés Escandón. This training included the development of the main fundamentals of the meetings and events industry, and the key aspects for attracting international events. There was a large participation of businessmen and representatives of the value chain of the MICE industry of Peru.

On December 12, the official opening of the FIEXPO Workshop & Technical Visit took place with the notable presence of Ana María Gutiérrez, regional vice governor of Arequipa; Madeleine Burns, Vice Minister of Tourism of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (MINCETUR); Arnaldo Nardone, director of FIEXPO International Exhibitions Group; and Paola Marín, director of Tourism Promotion at PROMPERÚ.

After the protocol words from the authorities, the traditional ribbon cutting took place. On the other hand, on December 13, international buyers and guests enjoyed different experiences at the destination. This allowed them to learn about the enormous potential of Arequipa for the development of meeting tourism.

They began this day at the Yanahuara Viewpoint where they had the opportunity to witness the Wititi Dance, which is Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In addition, participants enjoyed the exquisite gastronomy of Peru, internationally awarded, and the architectural beauty of the city of Arequipa. In this way, they were able to see various venues with ideal infrastructure to host meetings and events.
