On this special day, collaborators and guests gathered to deliver toys at the José María Pino Suárez Elementary School, located in the community of San Silverio, Yucatán. The initiative, known as the “4th Wizard King” activity, aims to provide moments of happiness to 90 children from this Mayan region.
Aranxta Munuera, general director of Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Resort expressed: "We are excited to be able to contribute to the joy of these children in San Silverio. The donation of educational toys with environmentally friendly materials reflects our commitment to corporate social responsibility. We appreciate to all those who joined this noble cause, making possible the collection of more than 250 toys.
The activity included a gathering with the children, which included piñatas, kings' cake and hot chocolate.
This initiative, which has been carried out since 2010, seeks not only to bring gifts to children, but also to share moments of fun and togetherness with the community.
It is important to highlight that San Silverio is a community of Mayan origin, located between the limits of Yucatán and Quintana Roo, where more than 90% of the population speaks this ancestral language.
The delivery of toys was carried out in the Ximbalbej demarcation, an ecotourism project of the community that seeks to preserve Mayan customs, traditions and cultural wealth. Roberto Sánchez, in charge of social responsibility, shared that this project, made up of 80% indigenous women, not only seeks to be friendly to nature, but also to keep the cultural heritage of the region alive.
