The Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA) has a series of high-impact events planned as part of its promotion agenda for the year 2024.
Thanks to a solid tourism recovery during the post-pandemic, the region is now embarking on a campaign that goes beyond traditional positioning, aspiring to the commercialization of multi-destination offer. A key milestone in this ambitious agenda is the Tourist Caravan that will tour the main cities of Spain, publicizing the destinations of Central America and the Dominican Republic.
From January 18 to 27, the cities of Barcelona and Madrid will host a series of product presentation events that seek to strengthen contact networks with the main companies that purchase tourism offers in Europe.
The journey begins on January 18 in Barcelona with the Destination Presentation, where visitors are invited to immerse themselves in stunning landscapes and vibrant cultures. Following this, the Central American and Dominican DMCs will have the opportunity to meet with the PANGEA travel agency in Barcelona and Madrid on January 19 and 22 respectively.
On the other hand, the presence at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) from January 24 to 28 will be a window to the tourist wonders of the region, with a tour through the ancestral past of the Mayan World, the paradisiacal Caribbean, the exuberant coast of the Pacific Ocean, the impressive nature, until reaching the innovative present of the isthmus, providing information on booming tourism segments and new tourist services such as airports, ferries and air mobility services.
On January 27, at a Breakfast - Presentation with the CEAV in Madrid, a meeting will be offered where industry leaders will meet to delve deeper into the vision and opportunities of the region.
In 2024, CATA will promote these and other initiatives, promoting collaboration between the Agency's member countries, and projecting the region as a comprehensive tourist destination towards the consolidation of Central America and the Dominican Republic as top-level destinations on the international tourism scene.
