Guanacaste Aeropuerto, a member of the VINCI Airports network, closed the last year with the best visitation rates in its history by registering 1,652,078 passengers in 2023. This increase in traffic represents 35% more than in 2019 and 14% more than in 2022.

International passenger traffic represented 1,616,037, while 36,041 were domestic passengers. 2023 was a historic year for Guanacaste Airport as it broke its own visitation records during the same year.

The three main visiting markets for Guanacaste were Miami, Houston and Toronto. Meanwhile, the three main airlines moving passengers during 2023 were American Airlines, United and Delta, respectively.

The airport terminal has operated since 2012 under the Coriport concession. Since then, the dynamism of visitation has been such that 12 million passengers have accumulated since then.

“Guanacaste Airport is the engine of development of this region and our numbers reflect it. We are proud because they are the result of comprehensive work by Coriport as a concessionaire, our operator VINCI Airports, and the public and private sectors who provide air and land services for the growth of the tourist offer of this province. All of this has also been achieved by maintaining superior quality indices and investments that increase every year,” mentioned César Jaramillo, General Manager of Guanacaste Airport.
