“Disney The Tale of Moana” Show Will Premiere Exclusively at The Walt Disney Theater aboard Disney Treasure in December 2024

With scenery and music filled with elements of Pacific Island culture that inspire the classic fairy tale, this innovative production will immerse guests in an adventure by sea and land in the first theatrical adaptation inspired by the Walt Disney Animation film Studios.

Giant Puppets on Stage

To create the incredible puppets that will bring some of the characters to life on stage, Jeff Conover, creative director of puppets and articulation for Disney Live Entertainment, worked closely with the great puppet designer Michael Curry, whose creations appear in the winning musical Tony Award winner, "The Lion King," on Broadway. The huge, fiery Te Kā will be a puppet on a scale Disney Cruise Line has never produced before. When Moana encounters Te Kā and restores Te Fiti's heart, Te Kā's giant puppet will shed her fiery shell and become the gentle goddess of the island.

Practice You "Warrior Face"

Moana and Maui will perform the song "Warrior Face" for the first time on stage as the demigod teaches Moana to overcome her fears before entering the Kingdom of Monsters to face Tamatoa. "Warrior Face" will join the show alongside classic favorites from the Grammy-winning soundtrack, including "You're Welcome," "We Know The Way" and "How Far I'll Go."

"Disney The Tale of Moana" begins in modern times on the fictional island of Motunui, with scenery full of details from the brilliant cultures of the Pacific Islands that will appear throughout the show. The spirit of Gramma Tala, our narrator, will introduce her granddaughter while, through vibrant dance and song in a mix of languages ​​including Tuvaluan, Tokelauan and Samoan, we will learn how the ocean chooses young Moana for an incredible journey to restore the heart of Te Fiti.
