With a solid delegation made up of representatives from both the public and private spheres of the tourism sector, Peru will participate in Fitur 2024, one of the most relevant tourism events internationally, as announced by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ).

This fair, which will take place from January 24 to 28 in the city of Madrid (Spain), welcomes both tourism professionals and the general public interested in learning about the destinations offered in the same space.

Throughout the five days of activity, the tourism potential of Peru will be exhibited alongside 32 Peruvian companies, with the aim of strengthening the image of the destination and promoting its varied tourism offer, in terms of nature, adventure, culture and gastronomy. It seeks to highlight outdoor experiences and sustainable practices according to new travel trends. Along these lines, Peruvian businessmen will have the possibility of holding key meetings with international tourism operators.

During the first day of the fair, at the inauguration of the Peru Stand, the new international tourism promotion campaign of our country will be presented, which aims to strengthen the image of Peru as a diverse and unique destination.

Within the agenda of activities in Peru during Fitur, attendees will be able to fly over the Nasca Lines, the Colca Canyon, the Citadel of Kuelap and Machupicchu, thanks to virtual reality. Likewise, Peruvian culture will be exhibited through various typical dances and a staging of the Paucartambo Festival, traditional from the Cusco region.

In addition, with the aim of making the public aware of Peruvian gastronomy, tastings and activations of Peruvian Superfoods and sectoral brands of coffee, chocolate and pisco will be offered.

Peru's participation in Fitur 2024 not only highlights the commitment to tourism promotion, but also underlines the strategic importance of the Spanish market for our country and of the fair as a platform for the exchange of ideas and international projection.

The public sector will participate in this activity: Juan Carlos Mathews, minister of foreign trade and tourism; Walter Gutierrez, ambassador of Peru in Spain; Angélica Matsuda, executive president of PROMPERÚ; and Paola Marín, director of Tourism Promotion.

And on behalf of the private sector: José Enrique Koechlin, president of CANATUR; Pablo García Wagner, president of AHORA; Ricardo Acosta Rodríguez La Rosa, president of APAVIT; Enrique Quiñones, president of APOTUR; Juan Stoessel, representative of COMEXPERU; and Denisse Mc Cubbin, executive director of the Lima Bureau, among other businessmen.

According to the profile of the Spanish tourist 2022, prepared by PROMPERÚ, the average expenditure is USD 1,396 for 17 nights.
