Miami and Miami Beach expand Rainbow Spring LGBTQ+ program

After a successful launch in 2023, the city celebrates diversity again with special programming

Recognized as the LGBTQ+ Destination of the Year in the latest edition of GNETWORK360, the leading LGBTQ+ marketing and tourism event in Latin America; The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, or GMCVB, has just announced the launch of its second Spring Rainbow.

Designed to offer LGBTQ+ visitors unique programming with outstanding proposals, in 2023 this initiative led to more than 27,000 reservations. In this new edition, Axel Playa Miami and Gaythering
Hotel, LGBTQ+ hotels in Miami Beach, will be the pillars of the program and will offer events such as karaoke, bingo, martini night and sporting events.

Other high-profile events:

Winter Party Festival. Running from February 28 to March 5, this annual queer music extravaganza invites the LGBTQ+ community to come together in a celebration of diversity and unity.

Miami Beach Pride. From April 5 to 14, ten consecutive days of events will include everything from outdoor movie screenings to pool parties and VIP events.

OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival. From April 18 to 28, this film festival will allow you to see films by emerging and already recognized LGBTQ+ filmmakers.

SweetHeat. In its 16th edition, this women-focused festival will offer a wide variety of events in South Playa, Wynwood and Downtown Miami from May 14 to 20.

SizzleMiami. From May 24 to 26, this urban event will have both captivating daytime events and pulsating nightlife.

In September 2023, Dan Ríos, GMCVB's LGBTQ+ Tourism Marketing Director, received recognition as LGBTQ+ Destination of the Year on behalf of Miami. Regarding the expansion of Rainbow Spring, he stated that "Greater Miami and Miami Beach are proud to be a community that welcomes LGBTQ+ travelers year-round. As a leading destination for the LGBTQ+ community, Rainbow Spring is another experience we offer to ensure that feel seen and represented when they visit us.

Miami and Miami Beach have a varied range of restaurants designed for the LGBTQ+ community. Asian fusion restaurant Phuc Yeah offers a queer-influenced menu that includes the popular “Say Gay” cocktail, a spicy take on the mezcal margarita. Palace Bar and Restaurant and R House offer dazzling drag shows and eclectic food and entertainment recognized throughout the United States.

Finally, Klaw Miami and Pez Loco provide an upscale dining experience with sophisticated coastal-inspired menus.
