The Minister of Tourism, Angie Duarte, held a virtual meeting with the Paraguayan ambassador to Canada, Raúl Montiel, with whom she discussed the possibility of carrying out promotional actions in that market, considering that Canadian tourists look for nature tourism products, such as adventure or bird watching that Paraguay has to offer.

On the occasion, the diplomat highlighted that due to the long cold months that the northern country has, Paraguay can be an attractive destination, taking advantage of the connectivity through Copa Airlines, with the Canada/Panama/Asunción route.

Later, he explained to the head of Senatur that there are important events in which Paraguay could have a greater presence to carry out promotional actions.

He also highlighted that this year Paraguayan meat reaches the Canadian market, which becomes an excellent opportunity to promote gastronomy through tourism. “And, above all, because the visa exception agreement for Canadians is still in force, which is also an important incentive to invite them to visit Paraguay,” he pointed out.
