Anato 2024 Tourist Showcase, brought together nearly 50,000 professionals from the sector in its 43rd version

After three days of national and international commercial exhibition, the ANATO Tourist Showcase closed with unprecedented numbers, not only in attendance of businessmen in the sector, but also in requests for appointments

“We are happy with the results of the 43rd version of our event. We reached around 50,000 entries from professional visitors during the three days, which was 24% more than the 2023 edition, but in addition to this, we were the scene of more than 22,000 business meetings between attendees and exhibitors. This, without a doubt, classifies this showcase as the best in history,” explained Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.

And he added: “every year, thanks to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and Fontur, we have the participation of the 32 departments of the country, but every year we see how the capitals and municipalities want to have a greater exhibition of their offer.” .

Arturo Bravo, Vice Minister of Tourism highlighted the evolution that the ANATO Tourist Showcase has had in recent years: “innovative bets were made to enhance tourism in Colombia, which have given rise to differential spaces for the Peace Tourist Territories and the reactivation of the Tourism Network of Heritage Towns, whose businessmen closed the fair with more than $2.2 billion in business expectations.”

Likewise, Álvaro Balcázar, general manager of Fontur, said: “once again we demonstrate why Colombia is the country of beauty. The ANATO 2024 Tourist Showcase was the opportunity for traditional and non-traditional destinations to show their tourist attributes that continue the path of development. Without a doubt, we exceeded expectations, at Fontur we attended 129 accompaniment appointments with territorial entities and tourism operators for the presentation of comprehensive projects that involve competitiveness, infrastructure and promotion."

The ANATO Tourist Showcase was also the scene of the Colombia Tavel Mart macro-round, where the entity in its 17th version exalted its commitment to business development, and which brought together nearly 390 businessmen, including 208 national exporters from 22 departments and 181 foreign buyers from 27 countries. “At each meeting we promote tangible opportunities, supporting the dreams and aspirations of countless companies, entrepreneurs and MSMEs. We turn Colombia into the preferred destination for global businesses, with a business expectation that exceeds 55.2 million dollars, exceeding the figure obtained last year by more than 1 million dollars,” said Carmen Caballero, president of Procolombia. .

Likewise, on this occasion, the union opted for training with ANATO Capacita tech version, a space attended by more than 1,200 entrepreneurs in the sector to expand their knowledge on technology topics applicable to their companies.

“The enthusiasm of the people and the quality of business meetings demonstrates the evolution of tourism in the country and encourages us to continue working for the competitiveness of tourism,” concluded Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.
