ITB: In Germany, Embratur invites the LGBT+ community to discover the “Brazil of diversity”

The agency is an official sponsor of the Diversity stand at the Berlin International Fair, where President Marcelo Freixo spoke about attractions for LGBTQIAPN+ tourists

The Embratur team presented, this Tuesday (5), in the auditorium of the Berlin International Fair (ITB), in Germany, Brazil as a country that respects gender diversity and has advanced in policies to combat homophobia, for Therefore, a pleasant and safe destination for foreign tourists. 

“We are the Brazil of dialogue and diversity. We invite the entire LGBTQIAPN+ community to visit Brazil not only at specific stops, moments and destinations, but at all times, in every destination in our country,” said the president of Embratur, Marcelo Freixo. “As President Lula says, Brazil is back, the country that awaits everyone with open arms. Here we simply do not allow any form of tourism that violates human rights,” he added.

Embratur was the official sponsor of the Diversity stand of the fair and had the opportunity to present the attractions of the country, in addition to the events established in the international calendar, such as the pride marches in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, as well as the Carnival of the main cities.

“Rio de Janeiro is not only sun and beach, but also culture, afrotourism, ecotourism and many other activities. Pipa Beach, in Rio Grande do Norte, for example, is a destination known for the exuberant beauty of its beaches, a green destination, with great environmental sustainability. We also have the Pantanal as a possibility for adventure and nature tourism,” listed Mateus José Alves Pinto, from the Experiences and International Competitiveness Management.

As highlighted by Embratur's International Events coordinator, Marjorie Mynssen, the current management of the Agency created a Diversity coordination and established an internal committee to address the agenda. The strategy is part of the ESG policy. Currently, Marjorie recalled, Embratur has an alliance with IGLTA and Brazil is the country with the largest number of DMC (Destination Management Company) and member hotels of the association, which demonstrates the level of commitment of the public and private sectors in the reception . well the LGBT+ tourist. 

Marjorie also highlighted the results of research by consulting firm Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection. “Brazil is the 15th safest country in the world for tourism and this number is important for us, it signals to the world our commitment to welcoming those who visit us,” she concluded.
