Chile returns to Europe to maintain the tourism positioning it has achieved over the years at an international level. From March 5 to 7, the country will be presented at ITB Berlin 2024, the world's leading travel trade fair, where it hopes to captivate more than 90,000 visitors and generate new alliances with strategic partners in favor of national tourism.

Our country reaches Germany as one of the main tourist destinations for 2024, thanks to the recognition it has received, such as the best green destination award according to the World Travel Awards and the appointments among the best destinations to travel to during this year by international media. , such as National Geographic, New York Times and Lonely Planet.

Cristóbal Benítez, national director of Sernatur, who will lead the national delegation in Germany, explains that “participating in Spain's Fitur during January was the successful beginning of the presentation of Chile to the world in 2024, an event to which we took part of our country to Old Continent, with gastronomy, culture and tourist experiences. Now we hope that the ITB in Berlin will be a new opportunity to continue representing Chile in Europe. Last year, we registered 396,012 visitors from this continent and 60,052 of them were from Germany, therefore, being present at ITB is very relevant to generate collaborative alliances that promote Chile in this market and in the world."

The European market is a priority in the promotion strategy of Chile as a tourist destination, especially in Germany, Spain, France and England. For this reason, participation in international fairs is an ideal setting to publicize the unique attractions that the country offers to foreign visitors and to meet with partners in the tourism sector.

Chile at the ITB Berlin 2024
At the ITB Berlin, which is being held in Germany from March 5 to 7, Chile invites all visitors to the fair to its attractive stand, in the South America pavilion, where the country will be represented for a total of 24 partners - five accommodation providers, 16 incoming agencies, two cruise operators and a car rental company - who will share a space of more than 200 square meters, the same one that was highlighted at the WTM fair in London in 2023 as the best stand to do business.

In a minimalist, sustainable and differentiating stand, which has a greater capacity for exhibitors and a more prominent bar for activations, the staging highlights touches of our cultural roots, such as butterflies made with Rari horsehair, Quinchamalí pottery, ponchos mapuches and wicker lamps.

The official opening ceremony of Chile's stand at the ITB will take place on the first day of the fair, March 5, together with the Chilean ambassador to Germany, Magdalena Atria.
