Air Canada inaugurated its longest flight from Vancouver to Singapore

There are four weekly flights throughout the year that facilitate connections between North America via YVR and Southeast Asia, South India and Western Australia via Singapore

Air Canada's long-awaited route kicked off from its Pacific hub in Vancouver (YVR) and arrived in Singapore, launching the airline's newest international route and the only non-stop flight between Canada and Singapore. At 12,818 kilometers (7,965 miles), the route is the airline's longest flight measured by distance, with a flight time of up to 16 hours and five minutes.

"Air Canada is delighted to welcome customers on board our new route linking Canada and Singapore from our Pacific hub in Vancouver. These new flights to Singapore form part of our strategic expansion at YVR, which together with an efficient and seamless transit connection process, further position the airport as North America's preferred gateway to Asia," said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning, Air Canada.

Singapore is also an important gateway to other destinations. Customers have a multitude of connection options to travel to Southeast Asia, South India and Western Australia with our long-time codeshare and Star Alliance partner, Singapore Airlines.

For his part, the Honorable Jagrup Brar, Secretary of State for Commerce of the Government of British Columbia, stated that "The reality of directly connecting Singapore, the economic gateway and most active financial center of Southeast Asia, with British Columbia, the gateway from Canada to the Pacific, can mean unlimited opportunities. This new direct flight opens up new opportunities for travel and tourism, business collaboration and access to global markets that will directly benefit people in Singapore, Southeast Asia and across our province".

International services

The Vancouver-Singapore route is operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners offering a choice of three cabins: Air Canada Signature Class, with individual lie-flat seats; Premium Economy, with wider seats, additional legroom and premium services; and Economy, with complimentary food, wine and beverages inspired and designed by chefs. All cabins feature award-winning in-flight entertainment screens at every seat with hours of free in-flight entertainment with over 1,400 hours of movies, over 1,900 hours of TV shows, over 600 hours of music and podcasts, and top-level collaborations with Apple TV+, Audible, Disney+, Hayu. Customers have the opportunity to purchase wi-fi connectivity. Additionally, all Air Canada Aeroplan members can send free text messages on board Wi-Fi equipped aircraft. 

Air Canada has 27 Maple Leaf Lounges in North America and around the world for eligible customers.

Inflight services on Air Canada international flights feature some of the best cuisine Canadian culinary talent has to offer with Air Canada's panel of celebrity chefs, including Montreal celebrity chef Jérôme Ferrer and award-winning chefs from Vancouver David Hawksworth and Vikram Vij. The culinary journey is complemented by a selection of the best wines, chosen by the prominent Canadian sommelier Véronique Rivest.
