EGOLAND Florida Resort kicked off the spring break season with the official opening of its newest attraction, “LEGO Ferrari Build and Race,” included in the price of admission. In this fully interactive experience, visitors are put in the driver's seat to build race cars using LEGO pieces and once completed, they can test them using cutting-edge digital technology and real racing scenarios.

"We are excited about this unique launch for our guests. LEGO Ferrari Build and Race is unlike any other attraction we have in the park at the moment. It celebrates the global popularity of Ferrari and F1 racing while challenging everything the world to imagine, build and drive the LEGO Ferrari car of their dreams," said Rex Jackson, General Manager of LEGOLAND Parks, North America.

The centerpiece of the attraction is the only life-size LEGO Ferrari 296 GTS model in the world. Built piece by piece with more than 424,000 LEGO bricks, it took 1,850 hours to complete. A full LEGOLAND team, including a designer, six Master Model Builders and three animators, ensured that every detail matched that of a real Ferrari 296 GTS. Complete with headlights, an open driver's side door and its distinctive rumble, the model serves as a welcome piece in the new space's "garage", inviting visitors to feel like drivers by imagining what it would be like to race in an F1 team.

After admiring the model, young pilots – and their parents – can explore their creativity in the experience's three construction and testing zones. It is possible, for example, to build a LEGO Ferrari car and then test it on a race track, a jump and an engine test. Each circuit presents different obstacles, challenges and the possibility of beating the fastest time.

Once visitors have their vehicles tuned, they will use digital technology to scan their cars and be able to virtually drive them around the track. A fully customizable experience. They will be able to digitally modify the engine size, tire specifications, power and aerodynamics of their LEGO car, and even add a personalized license plate and colorful stickers.

Visitors have the opportunity to complete three laps to set the fastest time and will be able to use the touch pads to give the car extra acceleration and the ability to change lanes. All visitors are encouraged to join in the fun and cheer on each race while watching the leaderboards that update in real time.

Younger drivers at LEGOLAND Florida Resort can also have fun creating their own designs in the LEGO DUPLO ® construction zone , with larger bricks made specifically for littler hands.
