Visit to the main attractions of El Salvador

Within the framework of the Central America Travel Market event, we were able to live different tourist experiences in El Salvador, below we will tell you about it

El Salvador hosted the Central American Travel Market (CATM) 2024 Fair, under the motto "Weaving Connections." The meeting, classified as the most important in the region due to its ability to convene key tourism actors, had the participation of senior officials of government of the region and a notable number of representatives of the tourism sector.

 

 

Our visit to El Salvador: Incredible beaches, volcanoes, lakes with turquoise water, Mayan pyramids surrounded by lush vegetation: all that El Salvador offers travelers.

The country has 242 volcanoes, with a total of 36 active. It is made up of 14 provinces and 44 districts, and almost 8 million people live there. El Salvador has two main international airports, El Salvador International Airport and Ilopango. The first of them is a hub for the airline Avianca and serves as a transfer to the other Central American countries.

It consists of 310 kilometers of beaches on the Pacific, and surfing has been practiced in several of them since 1976. It has 3 ports in total, and cruise ships are received in the Port of Acajutla. San Salvador, the capital, has 2 million 100 thousand inhabitants.

El Boquerón National Park: The El Boquerón Protected Natural Area is a natural park located at the top of the San Salvador volcano, 1800 meters above sea level, in a volcanic mountain range in the La Libertad department.

Fernando Llort Gallery, The Tree of God: Located in San Salvador. We visited the Salvadoran artist's art gallery and craft store.

National Library El Salvador or BINAES: It is a national public institution in El Salvador, it was rebuilt by the Government of El Salvador with the cooperation of the Government of the People's Republic of China on November 14, 2023

El Salvador National Palace: Located in the historic center of the capital city of El Salvador. It is a two-story building, predominantly neoclassical in style, although it has some Renaissance and, to a lesser extent, Gothic decorations.

Metropolitan Cathedral of San Salvador: It is the main church of the Catholic archdiocese of San Salvador, in El Salvador, and seat of the metropolitan archbishop.

National Theater of San Salvador: Located in the historic center of the capital city of El Salvador. It was built by French architect Daniel Beylard and inaugurated on March 1, 1917. It is in the French Renaissance style with modern touches.

Suchitoto Colonial Town: Suchitoto, in the Nahuatl language means “place of bird flower” and is located between the Guazapa volcano and the Lempa river, 47 kilometers from San Salvador. He obtained the title of city on July 15, 1858 and was head of the department of Cuscatlanuntil on November 12, 1861.

We also visited the Casa 1800 Boutique Hotel located in Suchitoto.

Lake Suchitlán: It is an artificial lake. It has a length of 45 km and a width of 10 km.

We visited the Walter Thilo Deininger Surf City Adventure Park. Los Acantilados Hotel and Restaurant, and Playa Tunco in Surf City .

Ciudad Santa Ana: It has become one of the main coffee producers in the country.

We were able to observe the Izalco Volcano , which is the youngest of the volcanoes in El Salvador and one of the youngest on the American continent.

Tazumal Archaeological Park: located in the municipality of Chalchuapa, department of Santa Ana, where there are archaeological remains of the Mayan culture

Lake Coatepeque: of volcanic origin, a supervolcano, it was formed by four cataclysmic eruptions; it is located 18 km south of the city of Santa Ana.

Joyas de Cerén Archaeological Park: located in San Juan Opico in the department of La Libertad, in the central-western region of El Salvador.

These are some of the tourist attractions that we had the opportunity to visit, attesting to all the potential that Central America has to receive tourists from all over the world.
