Grab your conch shells, noisemakers and whistles, excitement is building for the big cricket events taking place in the twin island paradise of Antigua and Barbuda this summer. 

In its latest innovative marketing campaign, “Be Part”, the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority is courting cricket fans and inviting them to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the game in Antigua and Barbuda.

Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, says: "Our 'Be Part' campaign is about being present in the moment, allowing the senses to awaken to the variety of experiences that Antigua and Barbuda can offer. From exploring our heritage and vibrant culture to indulging in the thrill of sailing and yachting, finding solace in our wellness havens or experiencing romance in our intimate surroundings, the campaign invites visitors to be present. and embrace every aspect of our unique destiny.

"You have to be here," exclaims celebrated batsman Sir Richie Richardson, West Indies cricket legend and one of the country's cricketing gentlemen, during the Be A Part campaign video in which he extends a warm invitation everyone to experience the action of cricket, soak up the 'cricket carnival' atmosphere that Antigua and Barbuda is famous for and 'be part of the game' on home soil.

Antiguan and Barbuda astronaut Keisha Schahaff, the first person in the world to go to space with her daughter, also makes an appearance in the video where she plays with elements of the ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup Campaign "Out of this World". The ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup is coming to Antigua next June.

In the video, a cricket ball is seen in space, and then makes a spectacular appearance on a stunning beach in Antigua, to the delight of the little ones. From Shirley Heights to Nelson's Dockyard, past a picturesque fruit stand, a busy restaurant, a quiet seaside resort and beyond, with the sound of the conch shell as a lure, the journey of the cricket ball provokes excitement and anticipation among all people. with which he comes into contact, setting the stage for an unforgettable cricket experience. 

The campaign will be launched in Antigua and Barbuda's main source markets, targeting potential travelers interested in cricket. He will appear in digital, print, social media and radio advertising for the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup is not the only prestigious cricket tournament coming to Antigua and Barbuda this year. The FairBreak T2O Challenge will celebrate women's cricket in July. Next, from August 28 to October 6, the 2024 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL24) will be held across the Caribbean, with key matches in Antigua, home of party cricket. In November, the England men's cricket team will tour the West Indies again for a series of white-ball matches, with fixtures and matches in Antigua and the Caribbean.
