Piura will be the seat of the Expo Norte Peru 2024 for the second consecutive year
Event will take place from May 22 to 24 and will be organized by the Regional Government and PROMPERÚ. It will include Seminars, Export and Tourism Business Roundtable
With the purpose of promoting exports, tourism and contributing to the economic reactivation of the region, Piura will host the “Expo Perú Norte 2024” for the second consecutive year, thanks to the efforts of the Regional Government and the Promotion Commission of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ).
Expo Perú Norte 2024 will be held from May 22 to 24 and constitutes the most important commercial event that promotes the exportable offer of the regional companies that make up the Commonwealth of Northern Peru (Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, Cajamarca and Áncash) in various markets international.
In that sense, this event has as its main components the Academic block (Seminars) and the Commercial block (Export Business Roundtable), in addition, this year the Tourism component is incorporated, through a Business Roundtable, which seeks to contribute the goal of achieving more than 41 million travelers through domestic tourism, which represents an increase of more than 11% compared to 2023.
In this way, 66 exporting companies from the Agribusiness, Fishing and Aquaculture sectors will present their product offering to 30 international buyers from South Korea, Japan, Argentina, Taiwan, Portugal, Spain, Chile, Canada, Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, Mexico, Greece, United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, in the Tourism Roundtable a total of 24 companies from the regions of Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, San Martín, Cajamarca, Amazonas and Loreto, will present their tourism offer (tourist services and travel packages) in a space B2B commercial (sales between companies).
Likewise, knowledge of the tourist offer of the regions of Piura and Tumbes will be promoted, through the participation of 20 businessmen from the regions of Lima, Cusco and Arequipa (with international reach), who will carry out a Familiarization and will participate in the Tourism roundtable as buyers. The tour includes visits to hotel infrastructures and tourist activities on the beaches of Tumbes and Piura, tasting of the gastronomy of Tumbes and Piura, visit to the National Manglares de Tumbes Sanctuary, Playa Zorritos, Los Órganos and visit to Puerto del Ñuro.
“Expo Perú Norte 2024 will promote the economic development of the Piura region with the participation of companies from various sectors such as agribusiness, fishing, tourism and more. “This event is expected to contribute significantly to the increase in exports in the region,” said regional governor Luis Neyra León.
For her part, the executive president of PROMPERÚ, Claricia Tirado, pointed out that the promotion of the region's tourism offer will continue to be promoted. Likewise, she said that the exportable supply will be promoted to various international markets, due to the economic movement it generates. “In 2023 alone, Piura's exports totaled more than USD 3,689 million, 5.3% more than what was recorded the previous year,” she said.
It should be noted that, in 2023, the Expo Perú Norte - also held in Piura - achieved the participation of 37 international buyers, 86 exporters from the agribusiness and fishing and aquaculture sectors; with negotiated amounts of more than USD 34 million.
