Those of us who work in Information Technology (IT) have witnessed the significant growth that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has had in the last year. However, although it is presented as an ally capable of enhancing human capabilities instead of replacing them, this new technological era brings with it challenges that we must face.

According to our research, 7 out of 10 organizations in the world have already implemented new technologies such as AI, Virtual Reality (VR) and machine learning 1. However, they all recognize the need to adopt them progressively to maintain their competitiveness in an increasingly digitalized business environment.

As technology advances, it moves deeper into the core of organizations, offering significant opportunities to improve operational efficiency, introduce innovative services and products, facilitate decision-making and elevate the customer experience. Some of these technologies allow the automation of repetitive tasks, advanced data analysis and even the creation of immersive virtual environments.

In this context, there is still great concern that AI poses a risk to work. However, projections indicate that, by 2025, around 149 million new jobs will be created 2. Additionally, 58% of employers believe that AI and Virtual Reality (VR) will have a positive impact on their organization's workforce in the next two years 3.

In this sense, as companies learn to adapt and change alongside AI, humans will drive the future of work, as they upskill and learn to work with these tools, not against them. Therefore, people must change their perspectives to see them as an opportunity to increase their technical knowledge and professional capabilities.

In turn, new technologies create as many opportunities for candidates as they do for recruiters. AI is transforming the world of work as we know it. From the hiring process, helping to align talent with the right roles, to reducing the gap in the hiring process, improving efficiency and accuracy in selection.

Organizations are undergoing a transformation in the way they train their employees and in their hiring processes. Now more than ever, human skills play a crucial role, especially with the integration of AI and VR into the labor market.

Skills such as communication, teamwork, empathy, critical thinking and problem solving are increasingly valued by recruiters. At the same time, skills related to systems thinking, curiosity and data analysis are essential to be better prepared for the challenges posed by AI.

In conclusion, it is essential to understand that AI does not displace human labor, but rather enhances it. People will continue to be key drivers in the new paradigm, and these technologies will improve their skills, technical knowledge and capabilities. As we become familiar and learn to work together, we will drive the future of work and improve productivity in our organizations and societies.
