Following a recent announcement of successful growth in the luxury segment in the United States through hotel conversions, Marriott International Inc. today announced its alliance with hotel operator Playa Hotels & Resorts to bring The Luxury Collection brand to the Mexican Caribbean with Paraiso de la Bonita, a Luxury Collection Adult All-Inclusive Resort, Riviera Maya. The complex, which will open its doors at the end of 2024, will be located on nearly 6 hectares of lush natural landscape, located between a mangrove reserve and the crystalline waters of the Mexican Caribbean.

The property is located in Puerto Morelos, a picturesque fishing village that is just 20 minutes from the Cancun International Airport, but a world away from the popular and bustling tourist spots nearby. The resort is expected to feature 100 elegant, oversized beachfront suites, as well as a variety of amenities, including an expansive 2,000-square-meter spa. In line with the brand's commitment to showcasing local cuisine and providing unique, locally inspired dining experiences, the resort is expected to have three restaurants, including one with a 5,000-bottle wine cellar, as well as a sushi and ceviche bar. To provide an even more exclusive experience, there will be a separate building within the property that will act as a “resort within the resort” with 10 suites with private pools and beach access, an intimate pool and two exclusive restaurants with a private chef.
