Volaris El Salvador, the national flag ultra-low-cost airline that operates in Central America, Mexico and the United States, announces the launch of its new international route that will connect the cities of San Salvador and Miami, Florida, starting on October 28th meeting the growing demand for travel between both destinations.
Direct flights to Miami are now on sale at base prices from USD69.99 in the Miami – El Salvador segment and USD99.99 in the El Salvador – Miami segment, expanding Volaris' connectivity offer between these important destinations, while add four new weekly frequencies - Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday - to those that already offers from San Salvador to Miami, via San Pedro Sula, Honduras. With this, the Salvadoran flag airline will provide its Clients with connectivity between both cities seven days a week.
Miami, in the state of Florida, is one of the most requested destinations in the United States by Salvadorans and Central Americans in general. On December 5th, 2022, Volaris El Salvador inaugurated the route from San Salvador to Miami, with a stopover in San Pedro Sula. And starting October 28th, 2024, it will offer daily flights to the destination considered the main gateway to the United States from Latin America.
“With this launch we reaffirm our commitment to expand connectivity options to meet the travel demand of Salvadorans and Central Americans to the United States. The opening of the direct flight from Volaris El Salvador to Miami expands and improves the alternatives for travelers visiting friends and family in different cities in the state of Florida, as well as for those traveling for tourism to one of the destinations most loved by Central Americans in United States,” said Ronny Rodríguez, director of Sustainability and Corporate Development at Volaris.
“The new route from San Salvador to Miami marks a significant step in the expansion of El Salvador's air connectivity, strengthening our international connection and enhancing trade, tourism and development opportunities for our nation; being a priority of President Nayib Bukele throughout his administration," said the Minister of Tourism of El Salvador, Morena Valdez.
Since the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) authorized Volaris El Salvador in 2022 to carry out regular direct flights from El Salvador to that country, Volaris has been increasing the offer of destinations in the United States. So far this year, the airline has made a total of 1,372 landings and takeoffs in the United States until May 30th, 2024.
Currently Volaris El Salvador maintains regular operations to the cities of New York (JFK), Washington, D.C. (IAD), Los Angeles (LAX), Houston (IAH), Oakland (OAK) and Miami (MIA), last one connecting from San Pedro Sula. The direct route to Miami will be the tenth in Volaris El Salvador operations.
