The protocol highlights "the importance of sustainability, innovative tourism models, the promotion of historical and cultural ties, and the implementation of tourism intelligence systems." In addition, it establishes the creation of a Monitoring Commission to ensure compliance with the agreed objectives.

The Minister of Tourism, Eduardo Sanguinetti, thanked the president of the Cabildo for the reception, “on this spectacular island that you have.” “We are eager to continue creating links, which we have had for a hundred years now, and we hope to be able to further develop that link and count on the entire population and public entities on both sides of the Atlantic.”

For his part, the president of the Cabildo was pleased to be able to receive the Minister of Uruguay in Lanzarote "to continue managing this change in the island model that we all want, also counting on people and countries whose history and culture has united us for many years." and to join forces in a promotion based on sustainability,” said Betancort during the meeting, which was also attended by the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, José Valle.

"The signing of this agreement will give us the opportunity for both Uruguay and Lanzarote to have more resources to promote exchange between both destinations and make them more competitive and, therefore, more comfortable for the families of Lanzarote and many of the people who, in their day, emigrated to Uruguay, and who deserve and want that relationship and that bond of union to never be broken,” he concluded.
