With the arrival of the Pacific World Cruise from the Japanese shipping company Peace Boat, the 2023-2024 cruise season ends this Thursday, June 27.
During this period, which runs from September 2023 to June 2024, more than 167 cruise ships arrived in INCOP's three Pacific ports: Puntarenas, Quepos and Golfito. This figure demonstrates the attractiveness of Costa Rica as a tourist destination.
67 cruise ships were received at the Puntarenas pier alone, 52 at the Quepos pier and a total of 48 at the Golfito pier.
"At INCOP we will continue working to provide cruise passengers with the best experience when visiting our country and Puntarenas in particular. In addition, we will be vigilant to ensure that our piers always offer the necessary infrastructure conditions so that their arrival is safe and pleasant." "
The Costa Rican Institute of Pacific Ports worked hard every day to welcome visitors with a warm welcome and a unique experience. From the moment the cruise ships docked at our ports, they were offered quality service, as well as cultural events and activities with the aim of providing them with a pleasant stay. Although
the cruise season has come to an end, INCOP is committed to continuing to work to improve facilities and services, with the aim of offering even more exceptional experiences in future seasons, as these have enriched the community of Puntarenas and have contributed to the development of tourism in our country.
At the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism we are proud of the joint work carried out in this 2023 - 2024 cruise season and the growth registered, especially in expedition ships. We have permanent challenges to increase promotional efforts at the main cruise fairs, as well as in attracting new cruise lines, together with improving service. English: to visitors and the tourism product, this, in view of the new season that is approaching” expressed Gustavo Alvarado, Director of Tourism Management at ICT.
