Avianca announced the launch of sales of the direct route that will connect Bogotá with a new destination, Chicago, starting on October 27.
The airline flew between El Dorado International Airport and O'Hare International Airport between 2018 and 2019, and after five years it resumes this route with seven weekly frequencies. The flights will be operated on A320 aircraft with capacity for 180 passengers for an offer of more than 2,500 seats per week.
The return of this route will strengthen connectivity between the Americas, allowing millions of travelers in South America, Central America, the Caribbean and even Europe to connect with the Windy City through Bogotá.
“At Avianca, we continue to focus on providing our customers with more connectivity and access to new destinations around the world. After landing in Montreal and Paris this year, we are now announcing the launch of the Bogotá-Chicago route, with which we are consolidating an interesting network that allows our travelers to connect with more than 10 destinations in the United States, and also facilitates the arrival of new visitors to Colombia and the Americas. Without a doubt, we are returning to Chicago with a renewed proposal that will allow more people to fly safely, on time, and with their bags,” said David Alemán, Avianca Sales Director for Colombia and South America.
"We celebrate this new route with Avianca between Chicago and Bogota, which boosts tourism in the country and strengthens our air connectivity with the United States, our main source market for travelers. As the leading destination in South America for American visitors, Colombia continues to offer meaningful and sustainable experiences. This route solidifies our position as a key player in the hemisphere's air connectivity," said Carmen Caballero, president of ProColombia, the country's promotion agency.
