Minas Gerais, Alagoas, Bahia, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio Grande do Sul, Sergipe. These are the states that have already confirmed their presence at the second edition of Travel Next Minas, which will be held on August 16 and 17 at Expominas in Belo Horizonte (MG). Regional destinations such as Santa Rita do Sapucaí and Ouro Preto (MG), Campos do Jordão (SP), Foz do Iguaçu (PR), São Luís (MA), João Pessoa (PB) and Gravatal (SC) will also be present.

This year, the expectation is that the event, aimed at training travel agents, will bring together more than five thousand tourism professionals and more than 600 exhibiting brands – in 2023, the event brought together more than 3.5 thousand people and generated around R$ 40 million in business, reinforcing Minas Gerais' potential for large-scale events.

The host state, Minas Gerais, will also be represented by traditional tourist circuits, which are well-established in the agenda of operators and agents. Among them, the Circuito da Trilha dos Inconfidentes, the Circuito das Águas and the Caminho das Mantiqueiras have already confirmed their participation. "It is very important to have the participation of destinations, circuits and itineraries from all over Brazil and, especially, from Minas Gerais. This confirms the importance and strength of the state as an outbound and inbound traveler", says Rubia Coser, one of the founders and directors of Travel Next Minas, alongside Aline Glaeser.

Tourism data in Minas Gerais continues to be a highlight in the national territory. In February, the volume of tourism activities in the state exceeded the national average for the same period by 1,533%, according to a survey by the Minas Gerais Tourism Observatory carried out in conjunction with the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Tourism activity in Minas during the aforementioned period reached 4.9%, 15 times higher than the national average, of approximately 0.3%. Also according to IBGE, Minas Gerais is also a leader in accumulated tourism performance from March 2023 to February of this year, with growth of 12.6%, more than double the national average, which was 4.9%.

The Secretary of State for Culture and Tourism of Minas Gerais, Leônidas de Oliveira, highlights that the numbers reveal the state's tourism and economic power and talks about the relevance of holding Travel Next Minas in the capital of Minas Gerais. "Bringing together more than five thousand tourism professionals in this second edition of the event will be essential for us to continue promoting Destination Minas throughout the country, attracting investments and businesses, which will generate jobs and income in the state," he says.
