Visa and Gotuuri, a renowned Panamanian platform for tourism experiences, have joined forces to enrich tourism options for international travelers in Panama and Colombia, where Gotuuri operates. This agreement underlines the commitment of both organizations to offer tourists authentic and exclusive experiences.
Gotuuri works closely with certified guides, small businesses and tourism professionals to offer authentic experiences that allow travelers to immerse themselves in the country’s local culture, participating in a sustainable tourism ecosystem. This approach not only benefits tourists, but also supports local communities, promoting a cycle of responsible and sustainable tourism.
Through this collaboration, Visa supports the implementation of digital payment solutions so that international travelers can access a wide range of activities, from cultural tours to gastronomic experiences, safely using their Visa Credit, Debit or Prepaid cards. In addition, Visa cardholders will have exclusive benefits with each reservation, highlighting Visa's commitment to adding value to its users and improving their travel experiences.
"This collaboration between Visa and Gotuuri is a way to innovate, promote tourism and support the many ventures that complement the tourism offering. On the one hand, it is important to offer tourists in Panama and Colombia experiences that can be paid for easily and safely using Visa digital credentials and, on the other, we seek to continue promoting development and technological competitiveness among medium and small businesses that contribute so much to the economic movement of the countries," said Santiago Rega, Senior Director of Cross-Border Business Development for the Caribbean and Central America.
Innovation and reliability in tourism
The Gotuuri platform, with roots in Panama, is in the process of expanding, seeking to include more destinations and attract tourists from around the world. This agreement with Visa is a key step to expand its reach and improve the user experience through the implementation of advanced digital payment solutions.
“By integrating Gotuuri’s services with Visa’s global network, we hope to attract a broader customer base, promote lesser-known destinations and support economic development in emerging areas. We are convinced that this collaboration has the potential to increase the flow of tourists to these destinations, creating new opportunities for local businesses and strengthening the regional economy,” said Jaime Fondevila, CEO of Gotuuri.
This agreement is part of Visa's ongoing strategy to drive the adoption of digital payments and improve the technological competitiveness of small and medium-sized businesses engaged in tourism.
