The Ministry of Tourism was represented by advisor Johnatan Scognamiglio and technician Karina Baldovino, accompanied by the LGBT Chamber of Commerce and Business of Uruguay, led by Adrián Russo, and the Embassy of Uruguay in Colombia, represented by Mercedes Corominas Galloso (@urucolombia).

Celebrated as the most important diversity, equity and inclusion fair in Latin America and the Caribbean, WETRADE 2024 commemorated its tenth anniversary by bringing together public figures, business leaders, entrepreneurs and academics along with diverse population groups. WETRADE 2024 served as a key platform to promote diversity and business in the region, facilitating dynamic interactions that fostered learning, trade and the creation of meaningful business relationships.

Last year, the Uruguayan delegation made its debut at this event, presenting attractive tourism proposals from destinations belonging to the National LGBT+ Commission. These initiatives strengthened ties with Colombia and positioned Uruguay as a welcoming destination for LGBT+ travelers. In the current edition, Uruguay took advantage of this valuable platform to further promote its country and the LGBT+ sector, stimulating tourism from Colombia and prolonging the stay of visitors.

The outstanding participation of the Ministry of Tourism of Uruguay in this fair under the category of "Management Investor" underlined the country's commitment to diversity and economic growth through tourism, attracting a large audience to its exhibition.
