In an age of more personalized explorations and discovery about who we are, people have taken up a new interest: personality tests. Among these, the Enneagram has become a favorite of many.
IHG Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Ashton Whitmoyer-Ober (@enneagramashton), a community psychologist and certified enneagram coach, to design vacation destinations that fit each enneagram type: “Understanding what motivates you and how you view the world can be a great way to create the vacation itinerary of your dreams,” suggests the expert.
“The Enneagram framework shows the motivations that can impact each preference,” Whitmoyer-Ober continued. “Destinations that have been curated for each of the Enneagram types mean another way for travelers to enjoy their life and live it more authentically, whether they are seeking adventure or something more low-key, with family or alone.”
Together with IHG, Ashton lent his expertise in personality types to identify a personalized destination that would maximize anyone's travel experience. The personality types that were analyzed to associate with the best destinations in the IHG portfolio were as follows.
T1: The Perfectionist. Destination: Kyoto, Japan. Wrapped in luxury, Six Senses Kyoto is the perfect escape for these types of personalities looking for something both relaxing and enriching.
T2: The Generous. Destination: Staybridge Suites Cannes Centre in Cannes, France provides the perfect balance for this type of personality.
T3: The Achiever. Destination: New York City at the Kimpton Hotel Eventi, located in the stunning Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.
