This hotel will be part of the largest hotel chain in the country, which currently has 40 hotels in operation (36 under the Howard Johnson brand and 4 under the Days Inn brand). The new hotel will be located on Provincial Route 101 and Avenida Circunvalación, a highly-traveled route on the way to Patagonia, just a few meters from San Martin Avenue and exactly 3.5 kilometers from the city center.
The first steps for its construction began in June, and it is estimated that it will be completed within two years. The establishment will occupy a plot of land of 3940 square meters (3700 m2 covered and 240 m2 uncovered) and its building structure will consist of a ground floor and 2 floors. The building will house 40 rooms, 20 of which are “standard” rooms and 20 “Junior Suite” rooms; which can be connected to each other, which is convenient for large families who need to occupy more than one room. In addition, according to statements from its owners, it will be a hotel adhering to the Wyndham Green program of ecological certifications.
Among its services, the hotel will have a restaurant that will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at different times of the day to its guests and those who wish to visit it. The hotel will have a capacity for 60 people.
The hotel will also offer both guests and locals a spa service (wet and dry sauna, massage service) complemented by a heated indoor pool. During the summer season, an outdoor pool will be available. Guests will also be able to use a gym with specialized training machines, while those arriving at the hotel by car will have access to a parking lot with capacity for 80 vehicles.
Three corporate function rooms (meeting rooms) will also be built within the facilities: one with capacity for 40 people, another for 20 people and the last for 12 people. A larger function room is planned to be built for the organisation and celebration of various social and corporate events for approximately 150 people.
Alberto Albamonte, CEO of the two hotel chains and President of GHA, said: “We are happy to land in the province of La Pampa, the gateway to Patagonia, and with Gral Pico for being the first city that has allowed us to reach this beloved province. We are convinced that this hotel will be a milestone in the local hotel industry and that it will surely change the face of the city.” GHA also emphasizes and celebrates that from the beginning of construction to the inauguration included, it will benefit the local workforce and business community.
