On its way to becoming an eco-sustainable destination, Aruba continues to carry out different initiatives that are friendly to the environment and support its preservation. This is why it decided to join forces with the Colombian brand Bohío Playa to create the Aruba summer collection, which is inspired by the culture and iconic spaces of the destination.
Bohío Playa is a model to follow in sustainability that goes hand in hand with Aruba's vision and mission, as the manufacturing process of the beach brand's garments focuses on minimizing the environmental impact, many of its products are made from 50% recycled PET bottles and the other 50% recycled cotton, making it a 100% eco-friendly brand. For its part, the Happy Island promotes the care of its corals, marine life and fauna. For several years, it has banned single-use plastic and sunscreens with oxybenzone. In addition, it focuses on using renewable energy, highlighting the use of solar and wind energy; and many of its hotels are adopting energy efficiency measures and sustainable practices in their properties.
