One of the most emblematic hotels in the capital of Peru, Meliá Lima, commemorated another anniversary since its opening on July 4, 2000. This 5-star hotel has positioned itself strongly in the corporate market for more than two decades, attracting both business travelers and the tourism sector from all over the world.
On this occasion, Lati Naimi, General Manager of Meliá Lima, highlighted that in recent years the corporate events area has experienced the greatest growth in recovery above pre-pandemic levels and they seek to continue increasing satisfaction levels.
He also reviewed the pillars of the brand that have remained faithfully in place for 24 years. “Proximity, coherence and excellence, a vocation for service and innovation have led Meliá Lima to become one of the most important and prestigious hotels in the city.”
The pillars are also reflected in The Level, an exclusive service from Meliá Hotels & Resorts, recently renovated to satisfy the most demanding guests, who seek the greatest comfort and personalized service.
During the celebratory toast, which was attended by Victor Zafer Dönmez, Managing Director LATAM of Meliá Hotels International, he acknowledged the commitment and, above all, the human warmth of the collaborators. “It is a tremendous pride to have a team with the ability to maintain excellence for so many years, which is why they are part of one of the best hotels within the Meliá company. No company is anything without its collaborators, without its human resources. Coming here is always like feeling at home,” he said.
“Each member of the team is a fundamental part of Meliá Lima, as are the former employees who, with their work, have shaped the growth of the hotel. We have them very much in mind,” Naimi adds. And nearly 50% of the staff has been working at the hotel for more than 15 years, some of them since its beginnings, such as Mónica Villavicencio, executive housekeeper, and Andrés Huamán, in charge of the maintenance area.
Monica started as a floor supervisor and what stands out the most is her colleagues' passion for work and ability to reinvent themselves. "We have a great spirit of improvement, we always try to do our job as well as possible and never stop learning," she says.
Andrés, for his part, highlights that, in his 40 years of experience in the hotel industry, his greatest satisfaction has been growing at Meliá Lima and that he now imparts knowledge to his new colleagues to provide the best experience for their guests.
It is worth noting that Meliá Lima is part of the Spanish chain Meliá Hotels International, which has more than 385 hotels in 45 countries around the world and seeks to continue expanding as a brand in different destinations in Peru.
To date, this iconic, classic-style hotel is ranked in Tripadvisor's Top Ten as one of the best hotels in Lima and hopes to continue climbing its category.
