The conference will take place on 23 and 24 October in Seville, in parallel with the Travel Innovation Summit (TIS).

Its focus on ESG (Environment, Sustainability and Governance) comes as the industry is adapting to new EU reporting requirements; financial institutions are requesting information on companies’ performance; and more consumers are demanding “purposeful travel.”

The conference will also examine the implications of the election of new governments in the UK and France.

The programme will feature speakers from Radisson Hotel Group, AXA, Sabre, Geotourist, Companie des Alpes, Intrepid and the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).

Campaigns and programs from consumer brands such as Coca Cola, Nestlé, Danone and Michelin will also be analyzed.

Destinations such as Greece, Oman and Spain will share their strategies to address the implications of the climate crisis.

Christian Delom, Secretary General of the AWFT, said: “This year’s AWFT24 aims to showcase where industry efforts and actions stand, from both a private and public sector perspective. By focusing on five thematic areas, the event aims to maintain focused discussions on how stakeholders have addressed climate, energy transitions, financial services engagement, community and communication.”

Nominations for the awards highlighting exceptional efforts will open on August 1.
