This is a milestone in regional aviation and especially for our country.

The president of DINAC, Nelson Mendoza, and the Secretary of Transportation of the Argentine Nation, Franco Mogetta, were in charge of signing the document.

The event, which took place at the San Martín Palace, the ceremonial headquarters of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Angie Duarte; the Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports, Daniel Scioli; the Paraguayan ambassador to the neighboring country, Helena Felip, among other authorities.

According to the Minister of Tourism, Angie Duarte, “Open Skies” opens up a range of options for connecting with new routes, since until now we only had access to agreements that limit destinations. “With this agreement there are no longer limits and if a company that is part of it is interested in a certain market, it can request it and start operations with the flexibility it offers,” she added.

In short, the “open skies” policy enables the entry of foreign airlines into the Argentine and Paraguayan markets, eliminates monopolies and tariff restrictions, and streamlines administrative processes.

In addition, it represents greater competition, the development of new routes and favours the growth of passenger traffic, since it reduces costs for the end customer.
