A delegation made up of eight prominent companies affiliated with the Costa Rica Convention Bureau and representatives of the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) have more than 100 business meetings scheduled with high-level buyers.

Monterrey and Mexico City are key economic centers for Costa Rica with a high concentration of companies that organize meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions. Establishing a presence in these markets allows the country to present its competitive advantages and attract the attention of event organizers looking for innovative and sustainable destinations.

“During these dates, more than 100 business meetings will be held, generating a great opportunity to establish contacts and close agreements that will benefit Costa Rica. The objective of these meetings is to continue positioning our country as a preferred destination for congresses, conventions and incentive trips,” said Dennis Whitelaw, president of the Convention Bureau.

"Doing business for our members is of the utmost importance, as it not only strengthens each one of them, but also contributes to the growth and positioning of Costa Rica as a leading destination in the meetings tourism sector. These trade missions are part of a solid country strategy that seeks to attract large-scale events, thereby attracting more investments and opportunities for the development of our country," added Whitelaw.

For his part, Rafael Quesada, coordinator of the MICE strategy at the ICT, stated that "we are pleased with the positive development of this trade mission in Monterrey and Mexico City, strategically designed to reinforce the positioning of Costa Rica as the ideal destination with optimal conditions for the organization of congresses and conventions."

Quesada highlighted that this trade mission has confirmed more than 100 business meetings to show the unique characteristics and differentiations of our country, with a sustainable tourism model that also applies to the MICE segment. The spokesperson concluded by stating that "efforts are being made to attract to Costa Rica many of the large events that are currently held in Mexico."

The Costa Rican mission travels to Mexico with the conviction that Costa Rica is a highly attractive destination for MICE events due to its modern and diverse infrastructure, luxury hotels and adaptable meeting spaces.
The natural beauty of the country, with its tropical forests, beaches and volcanoes, offers a unique environment that enriches the experience of attendees and allows for the incorporation of ecotourism and adventure activities.

Another advantage offered is Costa Rica's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, which complements the event offering, aligning with the growing demands for responsible business practices.

Likewise, geographic accessibility and proximity to Mexico facilitate travel logistics, making Costa Rica a convenient option for international events. Also, the warmth and hospitality of the Costa Rican people, along with political stability, provide a reliable and welcoming environment.
