Azul, the largest airline in terms of daily flights and cities served in Brazil, will increase the frequency of flights on four routes connecting the capital of Ceará, Fortaleza, to the interior of the state. Starting October 7, operations on the Fortaleza-Sobral, Fortaleza-São Benedito, Fortaleza-Iguatu and Fortaleza-Crateús routes will occur three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. All flights will be operated with Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft.

The changes represent a significant increase in the number of seats available. With the new schedule for these four markets, Azul is increasing the number of weekly seats between Fortaleza and cities in the interior of Ceará by 200%, consolidating its position as the company that most connects the interior of the state with the capital Fortaleza and dozens of other destinations in Brazil and abroad. In the state as a whole, the increase represents an 8% increase.

For Vitor Silva, Azul's General Manager of Planning and Strategy, the expansion is another step taken by the company to develop regional aviation and increase connectivity in Ceará. "Azul's operations in the state of Ceará are increasingly strong. Our flights are so consistent and successful that we decided to expand our offerings, increasing from two to three weekly frequencies. These changes reflect our commitment to increasingly serve our Customers better, providing more convenience and travel options for everyone," said the executive.

“The increase in the number of flights to regional airports reinforces the policy of bringing tourism to the interior of Ceará. By facilitating access to our regions for these visitors, we are able to distribute the benefits of the activity and diversify the offer of tourism products. It is worth mentioning that, in addition to the leisure segment, this action will also boost business in these regions, promoting further economic development,” celebrated Yrwana Albuquerque, Secretary of Tourism of Ceará.

Flights are now available on the Azul website, at the sales center or at partner travel agencies.
