Caribbean Tourism Organization announces dynamic speakers for SOTIC 2024

This year's theme, "Caribbean Tourism: Powering Our Lives," will explore the changing dynamics of the industry and highlight strategies for a sustainable and resilient future

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) announced an initial list of keynote speakers for the highly anticipated State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC), taking place September 2-6, 2024 at the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa in the Cayman Islands. 

Anton Edmunds, General Manager of the Caribbean Group Country Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), will share valuable insights on the future of tourism investment and economic development in the region. With extensive experience in public-private partnerships, Edmunds will explore strategies to drive sustainable and inclusive growth.

Janelle Hopkin, President and General Manager of Grenada’s renowned Spice Island Beach Resort, will offer an operator’s perspective on how to navigate the changing tourism landscape. A respected voice in the Caribbean hospitality industry, Hopkin will share best practices and innovative approaches to enhance the guest experience.

Nick Beaulieu, Senior Director of Market Strategy at Sojern, will present on the state of destination marketing.

Robert Cole, Founder and CEO of RockCheetah, will talk about how AI is impacting the travel industry and experience.

Melanie Chen, President of the Caribbean Energy Chamber (CEC), and Eugene Tiah, President and CEO of the CEC, will highlight the importance of sustainability for the region.

Christus Gill, member of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association's technology working group and co-author of the Artificial Intelligence Guide for Caribbean Tourism

Richard Moss, Senior Sales Manager for North America at the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, will discuss how sales and artificial intelligence relate to the tourism industry.
