In this first semester, the Happy Island is happier than ever! Latin American tourists continue to increase month by month and Chile is a fundamental part of this success. In particular, Chilean travelers in Aruba increased by 93% during this period, demonstrating the great potential that this Caribbean paradise has to offer exceptional experiences.

This was stated by Jordan Schlipken Croes, director of the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) for Latin America: “We are happy with the trust of Chilean travelers and the new ways they have to reach the Happy Island. For 2024, we expect around 14,000 visitors from this country to enjoy our award-winning beaches and prove why Aruba is a perfect destination to travel with friends, family or partner, at any time of the year.”

To consolidate these good results and continue to position Aruba in the minds of Chilean travelers, Schlipken led a promotional tour in Santiago, with the participation of 12 representatives of hotels and resorts on the island. These representatives presented their first-class facilities and services, as well as the infrastructure and experience necessary to organize events and incentive trips.

“Aruba is a perfect destination for companies to organize their meetings and incentive trips. We have the best climate and an inspiring natural environment, but also hotels specialized in this niche that provide all the facilities for a successful and unforgettable event,” said Jerusha Rasmijn, director of the Aruba Convention Bureau, during the promotional mission.

With actions of this type, Aruba continues to win over Chilean travelers, who are increasingly aware of the enormous tourism possibilities that this island offers them, with options for all tastes and profiles.

Aruba is also continuing to expand its hotel offering with the arrival of international brands. Iberostar will open its first hotel, Joia Aruba by Iberostar, at the end of 2024. By 2025, the Secrets Resorts & Spas and St. Regis brands will open their doors.

In this regard, Álvaro Caballero, director of the Tourism Office (ATA) for Chile and Peru, highlighted the growing air connectivity to the Caribbean destination. “We are very pleased with LATAM's decision to increase the weekly frequencies on its Santiago-Lima-Aruba flight from four to five. This new frequency adds to the existing offering of Avianca and Copa and is a confirmation that the Aruba Effect continues to delight Chileans,” Caballero concluded.
