Arajet, the Caribbean low-cost airline, reported that during the month of July, it transported more than 120,000 passengers, leading the transport of passengers among Dominican airlines, and being the first time in history that a local airline managed to break the barrier of 100 thousand people transported in a month.
Official JAC figures indicate that Arajet transported a total of 90,433 passengers in July, who entered or left the Dominican Republic. To that number, the airline adds some 30,000 passengers who entered in transit at Las Americas International Airport to connect to their final destination, bringing the total to more than 120,000.
Arajet, the Dominican flag carrier, had the largest passenger movement in its history, surpassing the figures for June 2024 by more than 20 thousand passengers, which had been the best month to date. It also surpassed by about 100 thousand passengers the second Dominican airline with the largest number of people transported, which was Sky High, which according to the JAC report closed the month of July with about 17 thousand total passengers. Air Century was the third Dominican airline with the largest movement, with a total of 6 thousand passengers.
Arajet assured that these figures reaffirm the airline's commitment to continue catapulting the Dominican Republic in the international aeronautical industry and at the same time solidify the country's position as the new Air Hub of the American continent. They also indicated that they expect to end the year with approximately 1.2 million passengers transported.
Victor Pacheco, CEO and founder of Arajet, thanked travelers for their trust, both those coming to or leaving the Dominican Republic and those who use the Arajet Hub to connect to some of the 23 destinations the airline flies to on the continent.
